san diego sports for today -- 0-2... padres could not seal the deal to get the wildcard and the chargers could not hold a freakin' halftime lead -- LT finally showed up to a game tho...
now instead of the padres losing in the nlds, we'll get beaten tomorrow against the rox... we're puttin' jakers on his regular 5 days rest... so there is a chance... so friggin' lame
chargers... pfft. effin' norv -- marty must be laughing in his grave right about now (i didn't know he's dead?). great -- we got the basement spot of the afc west -- how are the raiders better than us? we always seem to be playing a team with a chip on their shoulder (patriots) or playing someone who's chasing a record (favre, gonzalez)

saw david matthews at coors last night -- i remember why i hate that venue so much... the allergies! the allergies! parking and traffic were shit, due to some effin' cops who did not know how to direct the flow of traffic -- we waited maybe 10-15 minutes for ONE side to get through (granted it was the offramp exit, but C'MON!) -- for those who care, here's the setlist

so for work, andy had to contact this email list company -- essentially a spam list company. he apparently got "gabriel" on a bad day (btw... andy chose the name "frustrated" cuz he was already disconnected from them multiple times):

if you saw it on tv, right before his last AB, bonds made a motion at peavy that kinda looked like he was asking jake to slow down -- his pitch? really?!
guess jakers didn't see that and made him fly out to deep right center -- as bonds walks back to his dugout, jake and he embrace... you can see jake mouth, "my bad..."
turns out, bonds was askin' for some time to "soak it in"
peavy was locked in tho so he pitched him normal... kinda sad if you think about it... it was like bonds was pleading one last time for some mercy... NO MERCY!
oh well.. padres win -- 1 game back from first place, 1 game ahead in the wild card

there are sooo many articles written by all these sports writers, saying that the padres are gonna win the west (pfft) and that the d'blacks are gonna stumble (when?) -- even if the padres make it to the playoffs... do we really have a chance? cameron -- spiked, bradley -- slammed by our coach, overall offense -- inconsistent and shotty (as andy says, "all pitchers own us")
...but i still watch... i watch to see games like tonight's... go team giles!

sooooo sick... went to the game today -- first of all.. the streets of the gaslamp were crazy... it had the feeling of a division game or so... and it was the pirates... yeeeeaahhh...
ian snell was rough to the padres... the slider was workin' for him... september baseball is pretty sick -- everyone's lookin' at the scoreboard and cheering for teams like the giants and the cardinals...
the crowd was pretty loud for 26-thou... and it didn't feel like anyone left early... we all had a feeling that something was gonna happen -- and it did -- a walk off 3-run homer by scott hairston!

padres are doin' great as of late... it's that part of season where you scoreboard watch... this race is too close... the dbacks shouldn't even be in first place, and then there's the rox, dodgers, phils, and perhaps the brew-crew. as long as they get wins, it shouldn't matter what the other teams do...
