12.30.08 - jay "emo" cutter

first of all.. i hate when people disable embedding for youtube... c'mon!

this is the worst thing to do to a kid on christmas... i love how the person behind the camera is trying to get some tears outta him (SPOILER: and eventually does get some)... just terrible

another christmas-themed movie:

lastly, lil' bill o'reilly -- how come i've never seen this kid before... he's great! another one

all videos sent to me by lil' tim

thanks to sarmad, i think i'm going to start a small poster collection... got some resources to help me out:

actually dave's got a sick collection at his place:

12.27.08 - an epiphany

you guys get two posts for the price of one! lucky you...

firstly... "merry christmas" -- that phrase alone can cause wars. holy crap (literally)

so andy sent out this holiday card to our customers from work (work-work):

"she's a beaut, clark"

the responses people gave were ridiculous... one thing was common though: they wanted the card to read "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays". one guy in particular was just pure awesomeness:

For HUNDREDS of years, the greeting has been “Merry Christmas.” Let’s keep it that way.

Why should the VAST majority yield to a few whining minority? That is the purpose of a democratic republic, right?

-XXXX

so andy responded with this:

While most of us do celebrate Christmas, we wanted to send well wishes to others of different faiths that may celebrate something else this time of year. Our wish for comfort and joy was non-exclusive.

Andy
Emerald

pretty good response, even agreeing that "most of us do celebrate Christmas". buuuuut, the guy just had to get the last word in, even quoting wikipedia:

Andy,
Your choice of words, "Our wish for comfort and joy was non-exclusive" is very interesting. Emerald's message (like so many others) is written in a way that allows Emerald to keep the "letter of the law" while not providing "Room for Him in the Inn". That is being exclusive. The "Inn" is the heart and soul of all mankind and the door is closing in the name of political correctness.

From Wikipedia:
Main article: Christianity in the United States The largest religion in the US is Christianity, practiced by the majority of the population (nearly 76.5% in 2001[5]).

Based on the above fact and past marketing experience, Emerald is trying to appeal to the smaller market share.

Well, Emerald has the right to chose who they want to do business with and so do we. We have been using Emerald for 6 to 8 years, maybe it is time we choose another form of communication with our clients. I have encouraged and promoted Emarald to many reps in the past. I can certainly encourage them to consider another source as well.

Andy, I respect the fact that you are just doing your job. Would you please provide me the email address of the Owners and Directing Officers of Emerald.

Thank you and Merry Christmas,
XXXX

even being politically correct, i guess you can't satisfy everyone these days... nothing further came from it tho... andy wanted to throw down the gauntlet with this guy but didn't wanna get in trouble

so... happy holidays to all!

so i've found myself some nights falling asleep either while working on a site or playing fallout (yea... kinda like tim, but there are no photos to prove it)

i now seek the assistance of coffee to keep me up... yes... i'm drinking hot coffee now... but i'll never buy fourbucks (clever) stuff for hot coffee (but people can still hook me up...)

after a few test runs, i've found that splenda makes coffee awesome: 2 of those and some coffeemate cream = the potion

12.21.08 - i don't need no doctor

so i saw a trailer for this new clint eastwood movie called 'gran turino'... if you haven't seen it, check it out

wtf is with the voice? is this his lame attempt at being the dark knight? clint eastwood versus asians... who thought of this shit? what's with the fake "hand" gun motion? how does he not get killed?? why am i so mad?!

12.18.08 - soldiers, you've got to soldier on

so i came up with an idea for the rockband folks... we all know about the DLC (DownLoadable Content), where each song is $1.99 and new songs are released every thursday (for ps3)

rockband 2

well, what they should do is since you're paying for the song, which includes the rights to it, they should also let you download the song to your ipod. this would really get them close to the same level as THE apple.

think about it tho... not only will you be able to play the song in the game, you'll also be able to listen to it on your ipod or whatever and that'll only get you more hyped to play the song even more. when i hear songs on the radio that are in rockband, i crank that shit (like soulja boy)

12.15.08 - another notch in the banana

....ok that title was a stretch.... sorry.

so gorirra just finished its biggest project to date... now the thing is i don't want to link directly to the site just in case search engines pick it up or due to referral links from my blog... so if you go to the monkey site, it's pretty obvious which one is new.

i'm happy with the way the whole project ended -- it was tumultuous at times, but the client is satisfied and so are we.

that clears a huuuuge weight off my chest -- it was awesome to erase the job from the board... now there is just the "decker", "seeds", and "andy" projects on the board -- each is coming along quite nicely

the only thing that can derail these projects is a little game called fallout3 -- holy crap... i always say, "okay... just one hour... then i'll get back to work (or sleep)" -- next thing i know, it's 4am and i'm still trying to find a good save point... fack!

this is friggin hilarious (if you're a fan of the dark knight):

btw, the no doubt songs on rockband are really fun to drum to
