ballast point is a san diego-based brewery that likes to add a shizload of hops to its beer... i'm not really a fan of hops. i've actually been to their brewery and took their tour -- always fun to take a brewery tour (i highly suggest 'em)
of all of ballast point's beers, i'm actually a fan of the black marlin porter (actually bought a growler of this stuff when i was there last year -- been meaning to refill that sucker)
so overall, not being a huge fan of the hop-age, i'm going to give it a lower grade... sorry
