the padres made barry's final game a sour one... 0-fer and some awesomely crappy fielding -- even tried to dive for a ball (ha!)
if you saw it on tv, right before his last AB, bonds made a motion at peavy that kinda looked like he was asking jake to slow down -- his pitch? really?!
guess jakers didn't see that and made him fly out to deep right center -- as bonds walks back to his dugout, jake and he embrace... you can see jake mouth, "my bad..."
turns out, bonds was askin' for some time to "soak it in"
peavy was locked in tho so he pitched him normal... kinda sad if you think about it... it was like bonds was pleading one last time for some mercy... NO MERCY!
oh well.. padres win -- 1 game back from first place, 1 game ahead in the wild card
